Belarus/Ukraine transit visas

Dear All,
Does anyone happen to know about Belarus/Ukraine transit visas when
traveling by train? I have students planning to go by train from Poland to
Moscow this summer, and they would like to know the best way to go (i.e.,
with the least hassle).
