inexpensive multi-system dvd player

In many cases you can bypass region restrictions by playing DVDs on your computer's DVD drive. There is a free program called VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) that will play DVDs from any region as long as your drive does not enforce region codes at the hardware level (and most do not).
