If she is interested in "real" people, Zoya Kosmodem'janskaya's life story
as written by her mother (Pevest' o Zoe i Shure) includes an execution.
Whether things happened the way they were discribed in the book is a
different story. There is a lot of mythology surrounding WWII exploits
including some inventions.

And then there was Marfa Posadnica (by Karamzin).
