Dear colleagues,
Those of you who are teaching Tolstoy might be interested to learn
about the fact that there is an exclellent video on Tolstoy's WAR and
PEACE, and Tolstoy's vision of war located on one of the webpages of
the youth tube website:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFdaXzkgFuo&mode=related&search=
It's a Soviet documentary in Russian with English subtitles. It runs
for approximately 9 minutes and contains some documentary clips of the
Russian-Japanese war, among other things. Since it was produced in
Soviet times, it contains some political overtones which might be of
interest to historians, too.
All best,
Alexandra
