European University in St Petersburg closed by the authorities

The newspaper Kommersant reports that the European University in St. 
Petersburg has been closed by the authorities.
The official reason for the closure is fire code violations. Kommersant 
points out that the university's participation
in the EU-funded election monitoring program has angered  the 
authorities and led to a series of investigations, including
the fire safety one.
