It has been claimed that Lermontov wrote music for his "Kazach'ia
kolybel'naia pesnia" (Spi, mladenets moi prekrasnyi...), but he doesn't
seem to have been among the 23 composers who set "Borodino" to music.
In total more than a thousand composers have written music for more than
240 of his poems, with the record (around 100 settings) held by "Na
severe dikom stoit odinoko," his translation of Heine's "Ein Fichtenbaum
steht einsam..."
