This discussion just seems to highlight the fact that insults are very
group-specific, they change very quickly with the times and the place where
they are used, so to find the best translation of the word I think you would
need to know who is using it - a 19th-century peasant, a present-day
teenager, an old person who's out of touch... makes a big difference. A
teenager wouldn't call anyone a "boor", for example.
