Translation/Georgii Efron's diaries

  Dear Alexandra:

I am aware of Veronique Lossky's work as she wrote the Preface. It is 
Olga Zaslavsky who states in the last sentence of her Translator's Note:
/I have omitted a number of similarly sounding diary entries to avoid 
repetition./ It is my feeling that when we do this we detract from 
Russian scholarship. Another example of this is that now in 2010 we 
still do not have a complete translation of Doctor Zhivago into English. 
I attempted with both the publisher and the translator to have those 
entries added but to no avail.
