Dear list members,
can anyone tell me whether the Izmailovsky polk in St. Petersburg was still an active regiment, housing and deploying troops, by the time of the October revolution, or am I way off?
Also, can it be translated simply as the Izmailovsky Regiment (for polk, as it is in the original text), or must it be Izamailovsky 'Life-Guards' Regiment?
Thanks in advance and best regards to all,
Krystyna
