Spellcheck for Word Windows and Mac

I'm late catching up with the list again, but hopefully helpful. Macs
have built-in Russian spellcheck for native programs.  So I work
mostly in Pages (which can export into a Word document) when writing
in Russian.  An inexpensive workaround for your students who can't
afford to shell out $$ for Russian spell check for MS Word for Mac and
don't want to get Pages (though they may have a demo version on their
computer) is to type their essays in TextEdit.  You can't make "fancy"
documents with footnotes and such in TextEdit, but it does come
standard with Macs and does just fine for basic document needs.
