Russian writers and the Volga famine of 1921

Dear all,
Gorky's response to the Volga famine was to issue an appeal for international help. Platonov's response was to abandon literature for work in land reclamation. Khlebnikov wrote a remarkable poem cycle: GOLOD.
I'd be grateful for references to other responses, by writers, to this famine.
