Europe: East and West Undergraduate Research Symposium 2014, University of Pittsburgh

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Center for Russian and East European Studies (REES), the European Studies Center/European Union Center of Excellence (ESC/EUCE), and the International Business Center (IBC) at the University of Pittsburgh. We hope that you can help our centers promote an opportunity for your students to present their research.

On Friday, April 11, 2014, we will be sponsoring the "Europe: East and West" Undergraduate Research Symposium at Pitt. Modeled after traditional academic conferences, this event will give students the opportunity to present their research papers on Western and Eastern Europe, including Russia and other countries of the former USSR, to discussants and an audience. Please encourage your outstanding undergraduate students to apply to participate in the symposium. The application form and further information can be found at http://www.ucis.pitt.edu/ursymposium/. 

Deadlines:
1) Students must submit applications with 250-300 word abstracts and paper drafts by January 27, 2014.
2) Selected students will be notified by mid-February 2014.
3) Final revised papers are due by March 19, 2014.
4) Presentations will be made at the Symposium on April 11, 2014.
