Pride and Prejudice opening sentence in Russian

It's been pointed out that I used a tautology. Not deliberate, just  
haste. One word could be changed:

Следует считать повсеместно признанным,

что холостой мужчина с приличным состоянием

очевидно нуждается в жене.
