Pre-dissertation research funding still out there?

Dear all,

I have a graduate student who is in Anthropology, conducting research on
LGBTQ issues in Russia. She is looking for pre-dissertation fellowships and
grants (including summer funding) to do fieldwork in Russia. I was going to
send her to the SSRC site, but then remembered about Title VIII.

What are some other resources that I could direct her to? Feel fee to reply
