Translation question?

Might I suggest "Academy of the Arts"? This is fairly close to the original, and more or less equally (un)informative: the institution covered literature, theatre, cinema, (fine) art and music, and was a short-lived product of the almost constant reorganisation of cultural institutions in the inter-war years.

Predmet: [SEELANGS] Translation question?

Colleagues,

Is there a standard translation of "Академия Искусствознания"? Art History doesn't seem right since you could study to become a film director there. . . "Art Studies" is closer but that term doesn't seem to be used much in (American) English. . . is that the best we have? or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Tony
