Translation Questions

Hello all,

I have a question or two about translating.

What is the standard procedure for dealing with epigraphs in a translation? I have a quote from a сказка at the beginning of an article, and I was wondering if it's best to provide my own translation, or find a well-established translation of the story and use that.

From Aleksei Remizov's Купальские огни.

It would be nice to use an already-done translation, especially since I don't know what to do with Криксы-вараксы, but I haven't been able to find one online.

Thanks for your help,

Kyle
