Re: WaN 'by bladed instrument': In Crow and Hidatsa this instrumental prefix is (h)a-. The h is preserved in Hidatsa, while most of the Crow reflexes have lost h. This also suggests that Crow and Hidatsa have preserved an instrumental without Wa-. Randy
