Merr. "Winnebago Dictionary kept in MS by Henry
Merrell of Portage. It was made in the third
decade of the 19th century, for Merrell's per-
sonal use in trading with Indians. Loaned to
the Wisconsin Historical] Society in March,
1899, by his grandson, Henry L. Merrell, of
Portage; copied for [the] Society, and [the]
original returned to A. J. Turner (Portage) for
the owner."  Wisconsin State Historical So-
ciety, Madison.
