The Laurent Clerc Deaf Academy

A few of you have expressed to me the desire to know more about the Laurent
Clerc Deaf Academy, so if you are one of those people, read on.

The LCDA is at the initial stages of development (fund raising, PR, etc).
The first activity they are sponsoring is the ASL story hour every month
here in Chicago, which is designed to increase awareness of the BiBi
educational option. Without the support of parents, BiBi will never fly.
Members of the Chicago Deaf Community and others who support this option
for the education of students who are deaf are encouraged to join.

Mr Brian Sommers is the exectutive chair, and he can be reached at

are meetings that will be scheduled next month. Hope to see some of you
