Hello to the SL Ling list,

I would like to request your help in compiling a list of U.S. public
colleges and universities where I could work toward a graduate degree
(MA/PhD) in signed language linguistics.

I am a participant in a program here in Minneapolis that helps people with
limited financial resources to save for educational expenses by augmenting
their individual savings contributions with public and private funds. It
has just been announced that the funding I'll recieve can only be used for
public educational institutions. So much for Gallaudet, BU, Rochester, and
other great private schools with sign language linguistics scholars, at
least as far that this funding opportunity goes.

I have a BA in Psychology and would love to work in Ursula Bellugi's lab, so
the University of CA at San Diego may be a possibility. I am also aware of
Richard Meier's ASL acquisition lab at the University of Texas at Austin (my
hometown), and that there are sign linguists at the University of New
Mexico. Can anyone help me complete this list?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Marisa Bennett
