Signs for chemical terms

Since there is no real standardization of technical terms in most sign
languages (how many ASL signs for "computer" are there?), the first line of
defense against this sort of thing is to know the topic being signed about.
If you know what a conical flask, an orbital, or a redox reaction is --
which Ms. Panselina very probably does :-) -- chances are, you can use the
mechanisms available in your national SL.

That said, a cheat-sheet page which every (ASL) interpreter, teacher, etc.
should have is:

http://hometown.aol.com/bartzur/index.html

This is a great resource for technical signs (and religious and
international signs -- is there an intersection?). The notation is an
augmented glossing system which ASL signers, but probably no one else, could
work their way through.

Cheers,
