Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Deaf Studies

£30,012 - £34,813 (L) / £35,837 - £41,545 (SL) per annum

 

This role will see you taking primary responsibility for the management,
recruitment and delivery of the university’s Postgraduate Diploma in British
Sign Language/English Interpreting.  This programme, which has been running
for more than 10 years, is the leading Postgraduate Interpreter Training
programme in the UK

 

You will of course be experienced in providing sign language interpreting
services in a range of settings and will have current membership of the
Register of British Sign Language/English Interpreters (or equivalent). A
postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experiential learning) in deaf
studies, interpreting or a related discipline is required, along with an
interest in teaching and research. Experience of teaching in the field of
deaf studies at Higher Education level would be highly desirable.
