I have just plowed through SLLING-L Digest, Vol 2, Issue 40, dated Wed, 26
Sep 2007 10:46:24 -0400 (=14:46:24 GMT).
It is 519 lines long and contains three posts:

   1. Re: Re: SLLING-L Digest, Vol 2, Issue 38 (Dan Parvaz)
   2. Re: Dissertation Posted, Statistical Studies,	Saudi Arabia
and Jordan (Shane Gilchrist O hEorpa)
   3. Dissertation Posted, Statistical Studies,	Saudi Arabia and
      Jordan (Valerie Sutton)

1. Dan Parvaz replied in about 10 lines to Mohammed Abushaira, quoting
Mohammed's entire message, which included not only Mohammed's short question
(maybe 10 lines) but the entire digest issue that Mohammed was replying to:
Valerie's reply to Bernadet, quoting Bernadet's post, totaling about 200
lines including all the headers and footers.

2. Shane Gilchrist O hEorpa wrote a brief reply to another message of Dan's
(15 lines) and included his own message that Dan had been replying to, which
in turn included a long message from Valerie Sutton, which quoted in full
Bernadet's message that she was answering: four levels of quotation running
to another 100 lines or so.

3. Valerie wrote a 16-line reply to Mohammed and again quoted his entire
message, about 150 lines this time, including her own message that he was
responding to, which again included Bernadet's post, which is quoted in full
three times in this issue.

There are maybe 40 lines of content, counting message headers. It takes a
fair bit of effort to find just what is being said and what is relevant in
the quotations. PLEASE, listmembers, don't quote the whole previous digest
or message! You can and should assume that anyone interested in your post
has probably read the previous relevant posts, and quote only as much as
necessary to put your message in context.
