Inviting expressions of interest
 
The iSLanDS Centre is inviting expressions of interest from colleagues
of post-doctoral status to spend two years at the Centre as a
Postdoctoral Fellow. We will submit a joint application with one
selected candidate for a Newton International Fellowship. Fellows can
only apply together with a UK host and cannot apply on their own. 
 
The fellowship award is at the level of £24,000 per year over two
years, plus up to £8,000 for research costs and some other benefits.
 
We are looking for a candidate fulfilling the following criteria:
 
- Completed PhD and up to 6 years post-doctoral experience.
- Based outside the UK and not holding UK citizenship.
- Evidence of academic merit in research, including publications.
- A research plan over two years that is compatible with the research
portfolio at the iSLanDS Centre (refer to www.uclan.ac.uk/islands)
- IN LINE WITH THE PROFILE OF THE ISLANDS CENTRE, WE ESPECIALLY
ENCOURAGE DEAF APPLICANTS AND APPLICANTS FROM DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.
 
The joint application needs to be submitted by 4 August 2008.
Interested candidates should get in touch with us by 1st July 2008. The
outcome of the joint application is expected three months after
