There is an ELAN mailing list, and there is an A4 guide and manuals on the MPI website:

Subject: Elan

I'd LOVE to use Elan more ... when I can get it to work, I love it. But the learning curve and I are not on good terms. Is there a SLLing-L Elan support group in the offing? :D

My preference is ELAN. I tried SignStream once, but it was very limited compared to ELAN, and as far as I know is not in active development.

Hi. I was wondering what software people prefer for coding and/or transcribing videos of sign language. I know every program has its pros and cons.
