There is a LINUX version of the software - I didn't know that it didn't work so well. I think using ELAN is great and the support offered by the developers is really excellent, so perhaps you might consider selling your soul to the OS devil(s) just a little? :–)

Note, however, if you do not use a computer with an OS from one of the two hegemoniacal superpowers bent on world domination (i.e. if like me you use some "flavour" of LINUX), ELAN is much harder to get working fully and properly...

I'd LOVE to use Elan more ... when I can get it to work, I love it.  But the learning curve and I are not on good terms.  Is there a SLLing-L Elan support group in the offing?  :D
