Tibeto-Burmanists with field work experience should apply. I thought
that I would re-post the notice. There is only one week left before
the deadline.

SOAS is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Linguistics and the Languages
of China whose duties will be in teaching, research, and
administration. Teaching duties will involve convening and teaching at
the under- and postgraduate level, with contributions in teaching,
course- and programme development to the existing BA and MA programmes
in the Linguistics department, in particular to the BA Linguistics, MA
Linguistics, MA Linguistics and Language, MA Applied Linguistics and
Language Pedagogy, and MA Language Documentation and Description. A
willingness to be involved in the development of a new portfolio of
courses and degree programmes is vital.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Linguistics. Their research should
focus on Chinese and/or other languages of China. Additional expertise
in semantics and/or pragmatics/discourse studies is essential. Also
required are the ability to supervise PhD students, a strong research
background as evidenced by an excellent publication record, and a
strong record of teaching experience. Excellent written and oral
communication skills, an ability to work independently in an organised
and methodical manner, and strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
are also essential.
