International scientific conference Dulson’s Readings XXIV
(Tomsk, June 22 – June25 2005)

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear colleagues,

Tomsk State Pedagogical University and the Laboratory of Indigenous
Languages of Siberia are pleased to invite you to participate in the
International scientific conference Dulson’s Readings XXIV. The 2005
conference will be held June 22 – June 25 in Tomsk.

The Major Theme of the conference is Comparative, historical and
typological study of languages and cultures.

Conference preliminary topics:
1.    Distant affinity of languages and cultures (plenary sessions).
2.    Problems of endangered languages documentation.
3.    Study of languages of Siberia and contiguous territories
(issues in phonetics, semantics, and grammar).
4.    Historical and comparative-historical study of world languages.
5.    Typological study of languages and cultures.
6.    Methods of a comprehensive study of ethnogenesis.
7.    National education: modern trends and prospectives.
8.    Current problems in teaching of foreign, national and minority
languages.
9.    Implementation of data from historical and comparative and
typological study of languages and cultures in education process.
10.    Modern methodologies in language/culture documentation,
research and analysis. Corpus Linguistics.

The languages of the conference are Russian and English.

The organizing committee invites the applications containing the title
of the presentation and the information about the speaker (name,
affiliation, e-mail and phone number).

Applications for organizing sections or/and workshops on specific
linguistic topics are also invited.

All preliminary applications are to be submitted prior to September 10,
2004 to the following address.
