Dear Colleagues,

on 15 December, the database server of KOTUS (Research Centre for the
Languages of Finland) was officially opened for public use. The server Kaino
(http://kaino.kotus.fi/ ) currently offers corpora of Old Literary Finnish,
19th-century Finnish and Modern Finnish (classics of Finnish literature from
the 1880s to the 1930s; New Year speeches of Presidents of Finland), Finnish
dialects (proverbs), an access to the Saami etymological database Álgu and a
list of word entries in the Dictionary of Karelian. Unlike the CSC language
corpora ( http://www.csc.fi/english/research/software/index_html#field7 ),
the materials of Kaino are open to all researchers (for non-commercial use)
without registration.

Enjoy!

Best
