Dear All,

some information recently appeared on the UGRIMUGRI and URAL-LISTA lists,
with usual apologies for cross-postings:

- The information bulletin of the Estonian Fenno-Ugria Foundation has
appeared online (in Estonian,
http://www.suri.ee/il/2006/Infoleht4_35_2006varv.pdf ; for TOC's of all
these bulletins visit http://www.suri.ee/il/ ) and contains, among other
things, the following piece of information...
- The 23rd IFUSCO (International Conference of Finno-Ugrist Students) will
take place in Saransk, 20 to 24 May 2007 (deadline of abstracts: 1 March).
The homepage www.mafun.org does not provide more detailed information yet --
let's hope it will appear in time. Please inform your students!
- "Alkukoti", the paper of the Kindred Peoples Committee of the Helsinki
University Students' Union (mostly in Finnish), has started appearing online
as well. The homepage http://blogit.helsinki.fi/alkukoti/ now presents the
two most recent numbers (more will appear). Thanks to the blog technique it
will also be possible to add comments to the articles.

Wishing you all the best for the remaining holidays (a Hungarian linguist
colleague on another list wished all his colleagues "nyelvészetmentes
karácsonyt", and I also wish us all as peaceful holidays, as free from
linguistics and other duties, as possible...) --

and wishing you all and the whole Finno-Ugric world a happy new year 2007

JL
