Dear URA-LIST Community,

as far as I know, quite a few of us attended to the SLE conference in Tallinn. Again, a huge but excellently organized event with a very pleasant atmosphere and lots of interesting presentations. In the name of our community, I would like to thank the Estonian organizers for their "Finno-Ugric" contribution to European linguistics. And, in particular, let us congratulate the award-winning presenters (http://www.societaslinguistica.eu/awards/award%20winners%202018.htm <http://www.societaslinguistica.eu/awards/award%20winners%202018.htm> ), quite a few of whom in a way or another represent Uralic studies:

Best Postdoc Paper 2nd Prize: Éva Dékány, Katalin Gugán and Orsolya Tánczos: 'Khanty relative pronouns and the clauses that contain them'
Best Postdoc Paper 3rd Prize: Nele Ots and Piia Taremaa: 'Processing spontaneously spoken language: the interplay between phonetic, syntactic, and pragmatic cues in Estonian'; Ksenia Shagal: 'Towards a typology of participial systems'
Best Poster 2nd Prize: Irina Khomchenkova: 'Marker -ge in Hill Mari: is it really a comitative?'

Warm regards,
jl
