Dear Friends,

First of all let me wish you a very HAPPY TIME. Thanks to John Peterson, I have been able to join this group of SOUTH ASIAN LINGUISTICS as a new member today.

To tell in brief about myself, I am BA in English, MA and Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, and working as a Linguist in language corpus development in Indian languages with a focus on language technology at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.

My areas of specialisation are corpus linguistics, corpus precessing, corpus-based machine translation, corpus-based lexicography, lexical semantics, and lexicology. I also specialise in Bangla language, linguistics and culture.

I will be happy if I can serve the people dealing with these subjects.

Allow me to share your company and learn from all of you. Thanks.

With best wishes and regards,

Sincerely,

Niladr Sekhar Dash
