A bunch of women are writing about sex; it's been called "chick lit."
Candace Bushnell wrote the "Sex & the City" column for the New York
Observer--it's now an HBO series. Amy Sohn was hired by New York Press to
write about her sex life--she recently published a novel.
The Chicago Sun-Times, 27 June 1999, stated: "It's tempting to call it
'chick lit.'"
The earliest citation appears to be Newsday, 13 April 1993, pg. 96: "By
the way, the very proper sounding 'Female Literary Tradition' is known there
(Princeton University--ed.) as 'Chick Lit.'"
