"Born again" is often used in conjunction with the biblical verse, 'for we
have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.' "Born again," then, is
an acknowledgment of this shortcoming, an admittance that we have "backslid."
However, it further indicates that we have seen the "error of our ways,"
that we have "confessed with our mouths," and that our sins have been
forgiven. Thus, our slates have been wiped clean, and we are, once again,
"on the road to Salvation."
