Greetings from Alice Springs. I'm ready to Rock.
One of my purchases has been THE SBS EATING GUIDE TO SYDNEY 2000 (Allen &
Unwyn, 2000) by Maeve O'Meara and Joanna Savill. It's grouped by
nationality. There are tons of stuff not in the OED.

Pg. 115: ...yeeros.

Pg. 252: What is Laotian food? There are dishes with great sounding names
like "Crying Tiger," rice is the polished sticky varieyt and is served in
pretty woven baskets and there are lots of fresh salads, usually spiked with
a good amount of chilli.

Pg. 254: ...larb (the Laotian national dish made with minced venison, pork,
chicken or beef and dressed with stock, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, onion
and three kinds of mint and tossed with ground toasted rice)...

Pg. 320: Oz-Mex.

MISC.

It's good to know that Elizabeth Phillips is still alive. However, she
still won't respond to anything I say or do. Is she going to respect
everyone but me? Will she at least respect a dead man and have William
Safire correctly spell his name and correctly quote his words?
