Surely there is an old AS piece on duplication of intensifiers (with the
pragmatic setting so well-defined that the implied object of
intensification is understood. If not, somebody should get on it. Then we
could find out if "rather rather," "really really," "so so" (no "so-so"),
etc. have occurred.
