entertaining dialect

I grew up 20 miles southwest of Flint, and it wasn't till I moved out east
(Boston) and went back home to visit that I realized how wicked thick my
Michigan accent had been: nasal, palatized, (kee-yae-thee for Cathy, etc),
the whole nine yards. (Listen to Michael Moore in Roger & Me talking about
his dad and his job, and you'll get the idea.) I eventually figured out
why my east coast friend Ron cringed every time I said his name.

I also natively use positive anymore and boughten as a past participle
(which I didn't even realize was a 'mistake' until it was being discussed
at work one day). I hear my parents using this, so I know it's not
something I picked up after learning about later in life (like the use of
'wicked').
