What ! A well-made caipirinha undrinkable! Unthinkable!

PS: Everything else is jsut as Katry says (at least in Brazil of the early
1980's).

>Caipirinha is made with a traditional Brazilian alcohol called cachaça,
>which is made from sugar cane. It is a mixture of cachaça, limes, and
>sugar. It really packs a wallop and in my opinion is undrinkable. I prefer
>caipiroska - which, I learned from my former students from Brazil - is made
>with Vodka instead. If you use white rum it is called caipiríssima.
>
>All three are often included in the drink menus here in DC, mostly in the
>culturally diverse area of Adams Morgan and especially at The Grill from
>Ipanema - our local Brazilian place. If you're ever in town - try the fried
>alligator appetizer with your Caipirinha.
