If you're a member of ADS and have been billed by Duke U Press, you may be
puzzled at getting a "subscription" rather than a "membership" renewal
notice. It's the same thing: pay $35 for your "subscription" and you'll get
your membership. Below is an explanation from the person at the Press. If you
need further clarification, you're welcome to ask me. - Allan Metcalf

I received word through Marsha that there is a problem with the text of the
renewal notices for American Speech and the ADS. I would like to apologize
for the confusion and assure the members that this will be cleared up by
the next renewal cycle. We recently underwent an upgrade in our computer
system as well as an overhaul in our renewal notices. All of this required
that we rewrite the renewal notices for each journal. We were under a
tremendous time pressure to get the messages in and get the notices out so
we had to make some decisions regarding message text. I realize that this
has caused some confusion and know that members are confused regarding what
it is they are paying for. Once again I apologize and assure you it will be
cleared up by the next cycle.
