I wonder if the weakening of the distinction between 'we' and 'us' is
filling this deficiency. Us English-speakers sometimes use 'us' rather
peculiarly, putting it in the subject position, and it seems, always before
a (plural) noun. 'Us' would seem to be exclusive (just us-uns) while 'we' is
inclusive (everyone).
