Lulu (1965)

   Both OED and Merriam-Webster have "lulu," but not the political lulu.
   From the NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE, lead editorial, 19 January 1965, pg. 20, col. 1:

_Enter Lulu, Smiling Seductively_
(...)  If those charges are to be taken as seriously as their authors intend, the difference between the reformed and unreformed Democrat is that the former is more likely to hold out a judgeship as a dignified inducement, while the latter prefers to use the cold cash of a lulu.

   All of this will be worth noting at the next election.  But for the time being, the arrival of lulu on the Democratic scene signifies only that the majority party had better get down to earning its legislative salaries before worrying about additional sums "in lieu of expenses."  Lulu is a gal with a past, but the Democrats have a presetn responsibility. (...)
