A check of "salt walter taffy" at the USPTO (http://tess.uspto.gov) shows that Fralinger's claims a first use of 1894. A James Candy Company or James Inc., also of Atlantic City, claims a first use of 1924 for "salt water taffy." There are 15 hits, but not one is this "Edmiston."
