Watching a repeat of Laugh-In from the second season, early in the season
(it's fall of 1969), the episode with Sonny & Cher as guest stars.

There's this big musical number at the end where they (the whole cast)
sing a song about status, and within it, they rhyme trendy and spendy, and
they use spendy in the sense that has been discussed here on the
listserve.
