During my years in Texas in the 1970's, I often heard "turtle" used for trunk in the Ft. Worth area. I will admit it was used among the Model T crowd mostly, but it was alive and well, as was "mint" for any flavor Livesaver-like candy and "tank" for any pond--man-made or otherwise. I have Texas relatives who still use "turtle" or at least recognize the term. Lesa Dill
