Savannah, Ga., has a "historic district" which is roughly a square with the
waterfront along the north side.  South of the h.d. is the Victorian
district.  South of that is a bunch of suburban looking tickytacky,
concrete block and more upscale, with strip shopping and cheap apartments
intermixed.  (This is where I grew up.)  *Real* Savannah is of course the
h.d., although generous and tolerant as they are, *Real* Savannahians allow
the Victorian district to be part of Savannah, too.  The part south of that
is called North Jacksonville.
