1/2 cup soft butter or margarine
1 cut brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup Kellogg's Pep or 40% Bran Flakes
1 cup sifted flour
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
1. Blend butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add eggs, vanilla and salt; beat well.
2. Crush Pep slightly; add with flour to first mixture, folding only until combined.  Spread in greased 9 x 9-inch baking pan.
3. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F.) about 25 minutes, until just beginning to pull away from sides of pan.  Remove from oven and sprinkle immediately with confectioners' sugar.  Cut into squares when cool.
Yield: 16 2-inch squares.
Note: If desired, 1/2 cup chopped nutmeats or cut dates may be added with Pep.

   Secure Hormel Franks on end of clean peeled stick.  Make Biscuit dough (see Bisquick pkg.).  Form balls of dough and roll between palms into a 4 or 5" strip.  Wind strip of dough around frankfurter; cover completely.  Pinch tightly at each end to hold on.  Toast over coals turning slowly to bake through and brown evenly, _about 5 min._
