Dear Dennis,
Hee-hee, yes, it is true, i was relying on my ioway stress rules--i always
use these as examples of phonemic stress with my classes and they always nod
their heads solemnly and tell me I am right.
It is amazing what they will agree to, I guess. Still, I can't imagine even
Jesse Helms talkin' bout Lincoln's Gettysburg ADDress and not meaning the
street where he slept. Can you?
