Dark Winter

All this probably comes from Carl Sagan and the 'nuclear winter' of a
nuclear war. We now have 'volcanic winter', to describe equally catastrophic
eruptions (e.g., Yellowstone Volcano ca. 600K years ago, Toba Volcano some
70K+ years ago).

Something like 'impact winter' is probably floating around to describe the
catastrophic effects of we being struck by a large celestial object.
