I can''t find the ADS-L message, I think from Barry Popik, about "lebkuchen"
so I don't know what the up-to-date antedating (isn't that an oxymoron?) may
be.

So:
Mrs. Simon Kander (Lizzie Black Kander), ed _The "Settlement" Cook Book:
Sixth Edition_ Milwaukee: n.p, no date but probably 1912.

pages 381f has a recipe for "LEBKUCHEN" and page 382 has a second recipe for
"LEBKUCHEN"
