robot etymology in dispute? (not by much)

It seems as if, even though every dictionary credits Karol Capek with
"robot," there are quite a few folks on the Internet that believe his
brother, Josef, coined the word for Karol to use in the play "R.U.R."

Anyone have anything further on this? None of the sites cite a source
for this received wisdom (of course) and I don't read Czech (Steve?).

Sadly, Josef perished in the camps in 1945 and Karol died in the 30s.

(It's going to be mentioned on Talk of the Nation today.)
